Tonight’s tasting featured a pair of collaboration beers, starting with Sawdust City & Tooth and Nail Old Fashioned Dust Up, a “Rustic Pale Ale” brewed with Brettanomyces, which comes across more fruity than funky due to the freshness of the beer. Notes of lychee, pineapple, peach, and musty apple are prevalent, with just a faint touch of barnyard and band-aid, and mild husky malt before a fairly dry finish. Redline & Cameron's Going Going Back Back To Cali Cali, meanwhile, is described as a “Luxurious West Coast IPA”, and has everything you’d expect from that descriptor – i.e. lush aromas and flavours of mango, pineapple, tangerine, pine, and grapefruit – as well as some extra smoothness on the palate thanks to the addition of lactose.
