So I have finally finished my crochet flower afghan blanket. I am very pleased with it, although it was a bit of a labour of love. My initial visualisation of it was very different to how it has turned out - I kept having different ideas, changing my mind along the way. Its taken 2 months - other projects got in the way too - together with changes of direction. I used Beautiful Shells crochet pattern, by Lahona Molly-Kaye, free on Ravelry stopping after row 6 to make the motif - I also changed Row 1, as I could not get the instructions. I used 1000g Sirdar Stylecraft Special DK yarn in Clematis, Lavender, Parma Violet, Fuschia Purple, Magenta and Fiesta, finishing and edging in Spring Green using a 3mm crochet hook throughout. I was going to make all the 81 motifs in one solid colour, but when thinking about the centre thought this could be dull so came up with the idea of a flower. But why stop at one flower, hence the reworking of some motifs and viola more flowers appeared. Hope you like it. #crochet #crochetlove #cribblanket #crochetaddict #addictedtocrochet #stylecraftyarns #stylecraftspecialdk #afghan #flowers #lovetocrochet #handmadewithlove #handmade #handcrafted #ravelry #beautifulshells #flowerpower
