Does anybody know why Lainey stopped posting on BeautyBot?

Unofficially, it’s because her videos all get a LOT of criticism and downvotes due to the fact that she:

a) Never accepts constructive criticism or improves her skills - she doesn’t even use the right brushes for application;

b) Does a very half-assed job in her videos (ex. the Halloween clown makeup video);

c) Clearly does not give a single solitary fuck about what she’s doing - its very obvious that she isn’t passionate about makeup at all, and that she’s just trying to make money; 

d) No one wants to watch a half-assed “beauty guru” try out looks that are uncreative, that much more talented beauty gurus have already done before, or give reviews on palettes that have already been out for a long time, or that she bought from China for $4; and 

e) I hate to say this because it’s mean and I don’t like to attack people’s personalities, but the reason why people are so willing to watch people like Jenna Marbles or Shane Dawson doing such boring, everyday things is because they’re entertaining to watch. Their personalities are funny and charming and endearing, and it feels like hanging out with a friend. But Lainey’s just… kind of… bland. 90% of the things she says are just repeated, mimicked popular catchphrases like “lit”, “smol”, “shook”, “IT’S YA BOI”, etc. There isn’t much of a personality there to enjoy. 

Officially, it’s because she “wants to decide what direction she wants to take her channel in”.

Does it only annoy me that laineybot sits like this in restaurants? Or that she looks completely uninterested and irritated in nearly any picture that is taken of her.

Everytime any beautybot video pops up in my feed I look at the thumbnail and just go

Lain likes to plagiarize

Its no secret that Laineybot likes to steal art for body ink or make-up looks, but it went overboard in her last video.

We all remember when the last time it happened. They lifted a base artwork to use on their official merch shirt without asking the artist’s permission. After the comment from the artist, they added a small line crediting said artist.

In their most recent video where they creates a Gudetama inspired eyeliner look, they vaguely mentions having seen a picture of somebody rocking that look. However, there was no credit information in the video description. It lead to multiple comments holding them accountable and an actual comment from the artist who demanded being credited for the look.

One of the watchers first recognized the look and demanded the original artist be credited. They even let the original artist know:

There were several calls for Lain to credit the original artist, until the fan who had first sent Lain the original pic, commented this, drawing ire from the original artist as well as others.

The artist also left a comment asking to be credited:

Finally, an hour later, Lain added a small note to her video description adding the artist’s name and instagram handle.

So, there you go. Proof that Lain has done it agin and again and will not stop till they are publicly called out.
