It’s VERY clear that Greg likes feminine girls and it almost makes me feel bad for Kai/Lainey.
It feels even worse when I remember that he’s the one who strips is partners of their femininity, if I am remembering correctly. (thinking of the ‘Kai’ thing with Lainey, and the weird thing with saving girls heads, that stuff)
I wonder if it’s a matter of power to him too. Yes he likes feminine girls, but he also seems to enjoy taking that femininity from them. He doesn’t have to take away their femininity specifically, abusers can steal other things from you and twist how you think in other ways- but it seems to regularly be their expression of themselves with him. Their way of being women. Take away their dresses, their name, change their hair before you take that all away, break them down and search for the next one who’s just as girly, if not more so than the old one used to be. It doesn’t help that the girls he targets are young and impressionable and thusly it’s easier to shape them the way you want, giving him that same power trip over again.
Taking away someone’s indentity like that is an expression of the control you have over them. His weird view of women may also play into that, I don’t know, I’m just speculating. But to me- someone who knows what it’s like to have people try to steal your femininity from you- it really seems like part of that love for femininity is the love of taking it away. It may not seem like a big deal, but being controlled like that really messes you up. And we all know what Greg’s like, so it woudn’t be out of his character to get some kind of sick satisfaction from stealing a girl’s femininity from her.
I’m probably looking too far into this, but it just seems to me like it fits in with his pattern of behaviour and odd relationship with women. He sees a feminine girl and thinks she’s attractive, but he’s also seeing how much of them he can ruin. And with Lainey there, it’s like he’s looking for the next target to replace them with. He’s already torn them apart and warped them into someone wicked, so perhaps he’s bored and wants a fresh face so he can do the same thing all over again. It doesn’t excuse Lainey by any means at all, but it does make their story a little sadder.
Hopefully this made some kind of sense lol, sorry to rant this just reminded me of my thoughts on his femininity focus lately with those tik tok videos.
Man you’re onto something. Shaving Shiloh’s head, wanting to shave Billies, Lainey’s spontaneous desire to transition…holy cow you might be 1000% right
Also with both Shi and Lainey they both used to wear dresses and skirts a lot as admired by Greg, and over the course of the relationship they both stopped wearing dresses and skirts and stuck with things like sweatpants and comfortable boyish clothes
