Frank Grillo and his Wicked-Unholy-Bad-Baaad-Sinfully-Bad-Hotness has been haunting me lately (again) and I found this old Taserbones cutie as I went through some of my ancient manip folders.
Sunday afternoons are the designated lazy day around the tower- if everyone isn't away on a mission. Even Tony halts his sleepless tinkering to lounge around to a good, old fashioned, movie night. Relaxation settled in the air as a dinner of sugar and sweets abound lie sprawled across every available surface- including but not limited to the dining room table, the coffee table and the various side tables. Mountains of sweets threaten the avengers good standing at the dentist. Carmelized popcorn, copeous amounts of cookies, freshly baked brownies, trail mix, and pretzels.
Your first Sunday at the tower, to the team, was amusing. You had been completely flabbergasted by the extent that they went through to "relax," eyes as wide as saucers. You looked like a kid in a candy shop. Bucky could hardly contain the amused look that graced his face. Up until recently you both had kept your relationship under wraps, mostly because of your young son, Emmett.
Of course, everyone understood, and for the most part, they were respectful. Natasha, Wanda and Pepper often demanded photos.
Soon enough though, Emmett had become the buzz of the tower. He melted their cold exteriors, and many of their hearts- including Bucky's. His small body stays lying in Bucky's arms or lap. Disney movies played on loop, each of the avengers either acting out their favorite scenes in the most rediculous fashions, often including tiny Emmett, or sang all of the songs way off key just to hear his squeal in laughter.
Laughter had become the most sure fire sound track of their lazy days.
Soon enough, the lazy day turned into night. Emmett was content to lie lethargically across Bucky's lap, eyes fighting to stay open, watching the last scenes to Aladdin. All is quiet, everyone being too afraid to wake him. Returning from getting something to drink, you can't help but smile, watching both of your boys cuddled up together, completely at ease.
Hearing movement, Emmett's eyes focus on you, a small loving smile painting his placid features as he sits up.
"Mama?" His small, sleepy voice melts their hearts as the credits begin to roll. Humming in aknowledgment you turn to face him.
"Yeah, gorgeous?" Even with your eyes trained on him, you can feel Bucky's eyes on you.
"I need.. potty" his speech slurs, making you laugh softly, opening your arms to him. He happily complies, crumbling into your arms, hanging there as you walk out of the room, completely missing Bucky's utterly love sick expression. The team just Snickers.
"Damn, man. You're whipped" Sam begins.
"Utterly," Natasha agrees. Bucky rolls his eyes at his friends as Steve plops down beside him, giving him a small smile. He's happy for his friend. He's finally getting to experience what he left back in Brooklyn 70 years ago.
"I'm happy for you, Buck" he just gives a Curt nod, ready to drop the subject before you get back. Tony isn't having any of that. Seeing you start back this way, he gives Natasha a look, both grinning.
" Come on Barnes. Let loose. Be a sap." Tony starts, leaving Natasha to finish.
"What do you think is the most beautiful thing about her?" Glancing around, he tries his best to ignore their inquiring faces. He doesn't even hear you stop at the door behind him, curious of his answer. He sees pretty quickly that they aren't going to drop it, sighing heavily letting his head lull back in thought. If he was being completely honest, it didn't take much thought. He could go on all day about the things he found beautiful about you- your uncanny ability to find the silver lining, your sheer optimism, your ever growing need to help others, your many tiny quirks that he has come to hold dear. Of course, there are the expected ones as well- your intelligence, your wit, and your gorgeous face didn't hurt, either.
You wait impatiently, Emmett asleep in your arms, swaying him as Bucky starts to answer- sappy as it is.
"How she looks at Emmett." There's a thick silence as everyone waits for him to continue. Shifting in his seat, he sighs before continuing.
"It's as if he is her sunshine on a rainy day, her breath, her reason to live. She is many wonderful things, but her dedication to him, her love for him… that's what I find the most beautiful."
Shocked silence fills the room. Clint is sure he's never heard him speak that much at once, ever, much less to say something so intimate. Bucky sits in silence until everyone's eyes shift to the door way, and everyone just abruptly stands and files out. Stiffening, he turns slowly to look behind him, flushing scarlet when his eyes meet yours. They're lined with tears as a smile stretches across your face, reaching out to lay a hand on his cheek.
Relaxing, he lays his hand over yours, letting his eyes fall shut.
"Love you, Buck" your voice is soft, thick with emotion. He smiles softly up at you.
"I love you, too, Doll."

This may not be all of your cup of tea, but I wanted to say thank you!
So I was watching Captain America: The First Avenger on tv and...
Mom: Is there nudity in these Captain America movies?
Me: Not really.
Mom: WHY DO YOU SOUND SO DISAPPOINTED ABOUT THAT YOUNG LADY?!?!
Aaaaaaaaaaand I am now dead because Civil War.
Aaaaaaaaaaand I am going to see it again tomorrow.
Aaaaaaaaaaand everyone and their dog should see it.
Uh my dash is all Agents of SHIELD and I just feel like it needs a little Civil War to mix it up.
I screamed like the fangirl that I am at the Ant-Man end credit scene.
There's no negative mood a viewing of Captain America: The Winter Soldier can't turn around.
I AM GOING TO WATCH THE AVENGERS FUCK YEAH
