Even in canon, with Higurama leading a career of self-less, non-profit work as a lawyer - a quality of benevolence is portrayed. Only ever temporarily swayed when he undergo's his occasional moodswings/ psychotic breaks, Higurama's public spirit is still prominent. Especially now that he has undergone a journey of self-discovery, He aligns himself more with like-minded individuals that understand a true justice. In light of this, he winds up taking an almost self-sacrificing stance when it comes too the concern of the people he surrounds himself with.
Be it indirectly with people his age/elders (for ex; leaving a snack on his coworkers desk) Or with a slightly more endearing senitment when it comes to the younger children, he envisions the future of our society within. Higurama will protect those he cares for, and he is willing to push the limit in the name of what is fair, and right - to him. (which is why - in ch.238 - He comes out and faces Sukuna/Megumi with Yuji).
