So confession time...
My favorite sleepwear is a relative state of undress. As in, ideally, nothing but panties - and really I only wear those because I have this (somewhat) absurd fear that a spider might crawl up my vagina in the middle of the night if I removed this (admittedly) flimsy barrier. But to the point: in America, this doesn't actually happen very often. At university, I have a roommate and we have a strict no-nudity policy. At home, I have two parents and two younger siblings and no locking mechanism on my door. Here in Bulgaria, I have a room with a lock all to myself. But I'm still a bit worried about sleeping like this. Because like what if there was a fire? In America, we have smoke detectors. Which give me enough warning that I (stupidly) feel there is plenty of time to grab a bra and throw on some pants and even debate about which shoes look least ridiculous with my fuzzy socks. In Bulgaria, I'm fairly certain the only warning system in place is the sound of people being burned alive. So yeah. At that point, there's no time to grab pants. Do you see my dilemma?
