WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH BEING VEGAN?

From a vegetarian with plans to go vegan:

Seriously, vegans get a really bad rap on tumblr. I don't know if it's just the people on my dash, or just tumblr users in general, but REALLY? Of all the people you could POSSIBLY be hating on, you choose people that try to REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF SUFFERING IN THE WORLD.

It's like hating MSF because you can't be bothered to get off your carnivorous ass and tie a bandage now and again.

Trying not to bash meat-eaters - I get that the transition is daunting and not everyone wants to deal with figuring out a whole new diet. Hell, I'm having issues giving up cheese because I love it so much.

But find a different group to turn into jokes. We're just trying to do the best we can in this world.

I get that people like bacon. I get that people like posting pictures of bacon. (actually, no I don't. Posting pictures of your dinner is just weird) WHAT I DON'T GET is that EVERY TIME I see a picture of bacon, or anything like that, or even things that aren't even related to slaughterhouses, I see a comment that jokes about how the POOR FUCKING VEGANS ARE GONNA GET PISSED.

WHAT THE HELL? It's starting to feel like you people are just trying to pick a fight, seeing how far you can go with the joke before someone gets pissed enough to post something that you can rip apart and make even more fun of.

Guess what - I'm not pissed. I'm annoyed and every single one of the haters that posts dumbass things like that makes me feel really uncomfortable about how the world views my life choices.

Rant off. Love all the non-douchebags just that little bit more than the douchebags. <3
