who cooks normally?: they're both fabulous at cooking, but usually merlin's so caught up in whatever he's doing that he would forget to eat if arthur didn't make him, so arthur does most of the cooking. also, arthur had to learn vegan recipes and merlin had to learn to cook meat and it was an interesting experience for both of them but yeah, arthur cooks. unless it's breakfast, because then merlin's usually the one up first
how often do they fight?: they banter like any good couple, and sometimes one of them goes too far, but not often, and they deal with it well. but sometimes they have big disastrous quarrels in which arthur ends up sleeping on the couch because someone's pouty and then merlin wakes up at 3 am feeling guilty and lonely so he climbs onto the couch with arthur and their fights are big and scary and painful but it's alright because they're merlin and arthur
what do they do when they’re away from each other?: merlin spends most of his life in his own world anyway, so he usually ends up continuing his routines. he reads those ridiculously long books and stays up too late and arthur comes back to find him in a mess (typically) but sometimes he has gwen over and they spend the day watching reruns of doctor who and b-rated movies
the only time that arthur's really away is for business and he hates it and only thinks about merlin and how he wishes his father would just stop talking. but then there was that one time that merlin had to leave to take care of hunith when she was sick and arthur discovered a life outside of merlin; bars with the knights, and when he can't find anyone, a little bit of footy on an overcast day

merlin would, but arthur's just the slightest bit stronger and merlin is left out in the cold, but makes up for it grandly with snuggling against arthur's extremely warm body. why does he need all the covers anyway?
what would they get each other for gifts?:
arthur would buy merlin funny magnets from wherever he travelled and scarves because merlin loves scarves and arthur loves the excellent handle scarves provide.
merlin would buy arthur sentimental trinkets that make them laugh and smile and sometimes cry and sometimes arthur just wants to kiss him until they forgot it all
basically, they're dorky and gifts don't matter but it's sweet and their fridge has a large collection of magnets
merlin, for the most part.
arthur. merlin had a bit of a time with it at first, but accepts it as an endearing quirk and understands arthur's need to express himself
what would they do if the other one was hurt?:

i.e. sick? they'd take care of each other and be insufferable nursemaids and not letting the other step foot out of bed except for the bathroom until he was 100% better and it'd be suffocating but it would be perfect and lovely and yessss
arthur bc merlin's a shy butterfly and arthur was too impatient and he didn't want to risk the rejection of words so he just went for it. (yay arthur good choice)
who made the first move?:
this would be a point of contention in their relationship. arthur would claim that as he had first asked for help in his comparative lit class, they would have never met, but merlin protests that if he hadn't made a resolution to challenge himself to be nice to "the prat who sat behind him in comp lit" then really, they would have been in a much worse state
