Avid, after killing Elle, doesn't run into the woods but rather into the city. Maybe he feels it's safer? Maybe his feet just turn that way? Who can say. And he's found by none other than Abolish Veylocke. After a tear filled and confusing (on Abolish's end) conversation, Avid is brought to Lord Morcant's manor mostly to avoid him making a scene in the streets. After he has calmed down somewhat, he's offered a place in the organization that Abolish works for as well as proper training. Avid, obviously accepts. And Abolish is told that it's his job to train him. Avid is excited to learn, if he struggles with getting ahead of himself, overestimating his abilities, and generally not thinking before he acts. Abolish spends a great deal of time trying to keep him in check. But he does learn. And eventually they are given the opportunity to go on a tester mission to see if Avid can handle himself. Given the need to pay respects to his parents and the need to search for a cure for vampirism, Abolish decides that they're going to Oakhurst.
Honestly this whole au came about because I kept thinking about "what if Avid locked in?" I was also watching Abolish's pov, and his episode 7 opens with "there are vampire hunters and there are Vampire Hunters". Avid obviously falls into the first group, but what if he fell into the latter? Also, given how much Avid is interacting with everyone on the server, it might also pull Abolish into talking to other people more, which would be interesting. And maybe we could throw some Avid x Abolish crumbs in here. Just for fun.
