Garu was born in the late 1640s when the era of training shinobis were well-practised. Despite coming from a family of Samurais, Garu was sent to be one of the boys who was forced to be trained into a ninja as his timid character and small features was deemed by his father to be a “symbol of shame” to his family. This way, his father had claimed, perhaps he could bring some sort of honour and only then would he be willing to accept Garu once more into the clan. It isn’t until nearing his pubescence-age that the young Garu finally raises himself to be just as equal, in fact better, than his peers. Though by the time he’s ready to prove his worth, Garu was finally made known that his father had long disowned him.
Garu opts for performing a hara-kiri after finding out, but was soon convinced by the elders that his “skills” can instead be sharpen for better use for the dojo. It is then that Garu takes the vow of silence. Secretly, the elders have hoped to recruit Garu to be one of their elite ninjas for a darker plan that Garu never sticks around to find out when he goes away in hopes to search for his mother (who is a Korean and the only family member who he was convinced loved him). Brought back to the dojo when his efforts to search for his mother fail, Garu was later trained into a higher (darker) skill techniques to become an even more powerful shinobi — but the deeper he learns , Garu becomes aware that the less he would feel emotionally.
In his last effort to store his humanity, Garu stitches a heart across his uniform (to remind himself that he has “a heart”). Suspecting the symbol to be an act of rebellion, the Elders have ordered Garu to be buried with a cursed seal upon his grave so that, despite being six feet under ground, Garu will not die. Centuries later, in the middle of World War II, he was dug back up by The League of Assassin who has discovered an old journal of their ancestors about ancient living bodies that were ready to be of service / buried to “one day help the future”. Despite being alive, Garu’s body becomes one of the weakest there is ( even if he’s marked as one of the strongest shinobi ) and was then injected by an unknown serum that has only meant to enhance his physicality.
Regaining full consciousness, Garu was nearly entrusted to become a member of The League as a bloody assassin or/and spy in hopes his skills could infiltrate leaders of the world so it may work for the group’s favour. Garu escapes however, and for the next two decades, have meticulously managed to live his life in peace. It is during this duration that he’s discovered he barely ages. The peace soon comes to an end when The League, who in fact has never lost sight of him, seek him out once more. Garu eventually begrudgingly accepts and in the early 1970s became one of the most active member of The League of Assassin. Now in the 21st Century, Garu, or better known as “The Heart” or “Hāto” among the ninjas, becomes one of The League’s most powerful shinobi yet maintaining the reputation to be the most dormant as well.
Many new recruits typically would suspect that all of the rumours regarding Garu’s superhuman abilities are eventually false until, in one very rare occasion, Garu would prove them wrong.
Garu isn’t tasked with a lot of mercenary work considering The League does not want to risk the ancient knowledge he has in his head (that they’re working so Garu would pass it down) gone upon him being dead.
Garu uses the most accurate of ancient techniques / ninjutsu (which is far more powerful) and is aware that The League is cataloging his moves. He absolutely refuses to admit that he knows more than he does nor is he willing to share the information.
Garu doesn’t like being in The League, and doesn’t necessarily hides it. He also keeps his uniform with a red heart stitched to the front / chest as a private reminder. Garu is also sympathetic towards Jason Todd, for he was one of the members who were present when he was brought back to life, though he does not always show it but tends not to be so harsh on his opinion of him.
Time for a quick personal fuss
I just found out that one of my close friends got a job in another city. It's a contract position for five months and in her ideal field. It's really awesome for her and a great opportunity but in going to miss her so much. She's become one of my favourite/only people to hang out with on the regular and we'll be missing each other's birthdays. So I'm happy for her tons but super sad that one of my favourite people will be away for quite a while.

One thing I really appreciated when Sissy came to visit is the fact that she talked to me and treated me like normal and like it was any other day. Let me explain what I mean by that. So, I never told her myself that I had a girlfriend. I told my brother and he asked if it was okay to tell her (WHICH WAS SUPER RESPECTFUL TO DO!!! IF YOU HAVE A SIBLING OR RELATIVE THAT WANTS TO COME OUT TO YOU PLEASE DO NOT FEEL THE NEED TO TELL YOUR FIANCE/SPOUSE!! ESPECIALLY NOT JUST A BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND WITHOUT ASKING YOUR SIBLING FIRST!!!!), to which I said yes that it was alright to tell her. Her and I haven't really talked much since until they came to visit and it was so nice for her to not ask questions about my sexuality or simply talk about that and that be it. The only time we really talked about it was when I mentioned Erin can't wait to see the baby, to which Sissy was wondering when she WOULD be able to see her (because Sissy knows Erin's really Emma's aunt too!!) and was actually really looking forward to seein' her! Sissy treated it like just another relationship, which is how I really hope all same sex relationships will be treated sometime in the future!! And yeah it was just nice to have it just treated normally and no digging in deep on questions about my sexuality or just so many questions about the relationship in general and it was super nice to be treated like a person and yeah my Sissy is so nice///////////////
So for the most part,
Most (if not all) of the credit for you guys even getting to see my silly doodles and know me in general is because of the ever-so lovely Lianne.
If it weren't for Lianne, I wouldn't even be on tumblr right now. I'd be on my personal tumblr doing other random things, and none of you would have ever known I existed. When I started watching TVD I went looking for cool blogs to obsess over while I waited for the show to return, that's how I found Lianne.
She had her amazing blog and I was this little shy Anon wanting to know more about the show itself, and wanting to make friends with people who liked the show like I did, and Lianne was the most friendly out of all the blogs I followed. She wasn't questioning why I was on Anon, or bugging me to come off it- or being short with me whatsoever. (because we all know sometimes Anons can bug us.) After seeing how wonderful her blog was, all I wanted to do was make my own and blog about TVD as well.
So I made this blog and she promoted me, and I met a few of you and you were all so welcoming. I was overwhelmed by how friendly you all were, even though not all of you agreed on everything with each other when it came to the show; you were all really just sweet people. I was used to rude Anon's and snarky fights with people on my personal tumblr, not so much being a part of them but witnessing them. That was not the case here.
Lianne had seen a doodle of mine before, and she liked it. I remember asking her if she thought I should upload some TVD related art, and she was almost more excited than I was for me to upload something. So when I uploaded my first drawing and you guys saw it, it seemed as though you guys really enjoyed it. But Lianne changed that 50 followers who liked the drawing by reblogging it on her blog and it blew up. You guys started to follow me and I made friends of my own.
Lianne is also to thank for Carina even noticing my existence, too. She knew I would never have the balls to post a picture to someone who was TVD related, but she knew she could. And when she did, holy hell it scared the shit out of me having that many people on my blog, but it was awesome just the same.
If this is how I can make my future goals happen, I have everything to thank Lianne for. So if for some reason you guys don't follow her, you all should.
Go follow Lianne. RIGHT NOW.
