She’s heard from her mother that Garu took a vow of silence. It is an intrinsic part of his training, though Anastasia doesn’t see the point of it. If anything, it leaves her wondering how they will be able to communicate with each other. Did it only count for speaking? What about laughing? She does so love to make others laugh.
❝It’s alright— you don’t need to be so formal. Please stand.❞ Much like her siblings, she’s never been one for formalities. All the servants had been told to call her by her patronymic name, Anastasia Nikolaevna, or Nastya. Some even took to calling her Shvibzik. Though she supposed names didn’t really matter to Garu if he wasn’t going to speak them. ❝You’re going to be my personal bodyguard then? Well, I’ll try not to trouble you too much…❞ She grins a little, mischief evident in her eyes. ❝But I make no promises.❞
please stand , she tells , and almost gracefully garu obeys without a hitch to his muscle . he reminds himself that there are much worse conditions to be in ( like trying to fight hypothermia and blood loss in a foreign country after you were left to die ) and comforted that at least he trusts some people now . or one — the queen . and if this is what the queen requests ... thick brows hikes up at the terrible mischief colouring her eyes and garu tries his best not to groan aloud . already he can expect that the princes is building an ambition to make everything as difficult as it could be for him — he hopes all those years of training has him prepared . he has to . ( or else all of his efforts would’ve gone to waste . )
it’s an honour nonetheless ,
he writes — words flawless in russian — on the piece of paper he’s being provided .
