Number 3 of the writing prompts for boyfriends
“I’m not jealous,” Michael muttered, keeping from looking at Jeremy. He couldn’t look someone in the eye and lie. His voice would break and he’d start to cry if he tried to lie with full eye contact.
“Michael, look at me. I’ll believe you if you say it with looking me in the eye,” Jeremy said, putting a hand on top of Michael’s.
Michael looked Jeremy in the eye, feeling his heart drum inside his chest, seeming to try to break out. He smiled lightly, pressing his hand to Jeremy’s cheek. “Jer…”
“Mikey..” Jeremy whispered, feeling a pang of guilt shatter his heart as he watch Michael start crying.
Michael curled to Jeremy’s body, clinging to his cardigan. “I’m not jealous, I-I swear… Promise…”
Jeremy held Michael close to him, not caring that his striped tee was going to be soaked from his friend’s tears.
Michael looked up into Jeremy’s eyes. “I love…”
“I know…” Jeremy whispered, pulling Michael up more so his head now rested on his shoulder rather than his chest. Michael rested his head on its side, facing away from his neck.
“…you…” Michael whispered, holding to him tighter.
“I love you, too…” Jeremy whispered back, kissing the top of Michael’s head.
Why did I do this to myself. I cried twice while writing this.
