【今日のレコード】69年リリース『BECK-OLA』とその前年68年にリリースされた『TRUTH』をコンパイルした2枚組アルバム。昔はこんな乱暴な企画をたまに見かけた。2枚ともロン・ウッドがベースを弾いている。ヴォーカルはロッド・スチュワート。『TRUTH』の雰囲気はもろレッド・ツェッペリン。このアルバムをブラッシュアップしたのがツェッペリンのファーストとも言われている。ジミー・ペイジは否定しているらしいけど。どちらにしろジェフ・ベックもジミー・ペイジもブルースを基調にしたハードロックにたどり着いたところが興味深い。最終的にはジェフ・ベックは違う方向へ進んでいくのだけど。ジェフ・ベックはギター好きな森田くんが一番好きなアーティストで、その影響で聴くようになった。日本でも何度か見てるけど、いつだったかロンドンのハマースミスオデオンでも見た。 #JeffBeck #Truth #BeckOla #1968release #1969release https://www.instagram.com/p/CRd-rtypBUu/?utm_medium=tumblr

Maybe it was a fave however it was funny and the last time I witnessed the power of Jeff was at Madison Square Garden where Jeff went toe to toe with #ericclapton and Jeff wow blew all competition away! Jeff I love so many of his records - however this was his heaviest record period and he, Rod, Ronnie and Tony are playing at their best! My fave on this record is the instrumental #ricepudding that being said the 2 #elvispresley covers #jailhouserock and #allshookup are equally dazzling - I was too young to see this version of this band nevertheless I did see so many of his various lineups and he has never disappointed Enjoy!
