Heartbreaking but honored...My Turi's ornament for 2018 is on the tree. Looking at everyone's else ornaments and couldnt help but to get sad. Every ornament is a symbol of angel to another family. My Turi is forever my baby but he became an angel for 5 different people. 5 other families do not have to endure the heartbreak of losing someone they love. I am internally grateful for the time I had with my son and blessed knowing he saved 5 lives. So glad that both myself and Maan's very first blood donations are going to my hospital in Philly and also that we both found out our blood is O+! So next time we can make Power Red donations-- which are actually safer because the machine separates and collects two units of red cells and then safely returns the remaining blood components, along with some saline, back to your body through the same arm. #redcrossontheway #becomeadonor (at American Red Cross Lehigh Valley Chapter)
