stumbled across this pic i took back in july when we were in tanzania…

for me, it resembles a moment of calmness in a world so fast-paced and ever-changing. it‘s easy to get overwhelmed and/or to lose focus these days, with everything that‘s happening around us. may every one of us be able to find such a moment of calmness in their daily lives, maybe to remember why it‘s worth to still be around or just to center yourself.

my heart and thoughts go out to everyone.

no conditions, because we‘re all worth to be thought of and to receive love.

thoughtfulness and love - for me, the most important components of empathy - should never go hand in hand with a condition. it doesn‘t matter whether you‘re going through an up or a down, whether you’re sad or happy, whether your world is falling apart or you feel like it’s never been going better, you‘re worth being thought of and you‘re worth being here.

I have a question. To you, what denotes "entertainment" versus "a story/narrative"?

There are video games, movies, shows just for entertainment that are fun, but then there are like...stories. Some entertainment can include stories, but they still feel more like entertainment than stories. For example, you have things like Avatar the last Airbender. That's a story. You have shows like Family Feud, and that's entertainment. But there are also shows like CSI, which have a story element to them but still feel more like entertainment. And then you have shows like Bluey which are supposed to be entertainment but feel more like stories.

Do you understand what I mean? Am I making sense? There are so many of these cases and I can't seem to really understand why they're one or the other or both, other than like...vibes, or how it impacts you emotionally? Do you have any answers?

Besides the various ways of expressing their love listed in my previous post, there are these two specific and complementary things that Joyce and Dorothy say to each other. Every time Dorothy says or does something Joyce struggles with, she pauses to reassure Dorothy that she still thinks of her in only the most exalted terms. And Dorothy has made a habit of noticing and complementing Joyce's passion. So this dynamic gets its own post.
