the story of an angel
There once was an angel Her wings white and strong She flew so carefree Whilst singing a song One day she stepped foot On the ground of our earth Forbidden to her By the rules of her hearth Sneaky and smooth Guile and all She set eyes upon him And started to fall Her wings fell away Her skin with no glow She ran away with that boy Leaving behind her home They lived in a house No means to their name But the angel never faltered On the decision she made She loved him for him A man with beauty Simplicity he carried The human she knew She thought she would love until eternity Years later pass He's left his angel for her A woman he met Days before The angel she cried And turned back to home She tried to fly But her ability was no more She called to the heavens Pleading and begging To take her back No longer wanting her bedding She was not welcome The angel had fallen No one would save her From her choices of blunder She walked down the hill With nowhere to go She searched and searched For a new home She wandered her ground Learning the trade Getting a job At some coffee place People walk in People walk out Through the window, the sight of where she came down Everyday she saw People come and then leave No familiar face does she ever see One day one came in He saw the sadness in her sparkling eyes "The eyes of an angel" he called "Blue as the skies" He came back everyday And sat with a view of the angel Wanting to discover her truth His head cocked with mysterious angle The store was closing Only them two left He asked her why She would never say How she came to work At such a place with no pay She told him her story That she thought he would not believe But he then showed her the scars Of where his wings used to be He'd fallen for a girl She left him for a guy Now he lives in this town No will to say goodbye She pointed outside The place she had dropped From the heavens them two Whose hearts gravitate up They looked at each other He pulled her hair back Scooted some closer And whispered his offer "Close your eyes, in a moment You'll see" "I'll show you a place You'll never want to leave" Slowly her view went out of focus His arms then encompassed her Entire circumference He held her Until she pushed away Scared of falling For another man He grabbed her arm And spun her around They kissed with lips Of desire and earnest The lights burst open And the winds picked up The room it glowed Whenever they touched He held her tighter She gave into sensation Ignoring the flames Circling their fire White feathers laced with gold Sprouted from behind A light beaming between them Forced them to look at their surrounding They stared in awe At first with confusion Smiled at one another Love engulfing their person Hand in hand they walked out of the shop Walking to the field Where they both had dropped They grasped each other tighter Ascending to heaven Gazing up ahead Their last words on earth "I'll love you forever"
