Your love is offered in service, and it is not a burden or an imposition. Allow yourself to be loved back."

Back at it with proper BediGuda art and this one I like how it turned out...finally....the last one was pretty rough.

Rambles below the cut to explain:

I had this sketch since last year omfg but I hung around to it and I'm glad I eventually saw through its completion,,,,yay,,,,

Basically, what gave me the inspo for this is the heartbreaking way Bedivere phrases his Bond 5 line, which I quoted above.

There are love confessions and there is indirectly telling how precious his Master is to them by saying they're similar to King Arthur, which, you know... Bedivere only journeyed 1500 years for the sake of???

But then the last sentence..."If it can forgiven, I wish to offer you my sword as well."

The thing is, in another My Room Line, Bedivere also has this to say: "To trust you with my sword is the same as entrusting you with my fate. ...While I devote my loyalty to my King, now I shall use this sword for you, my Master."

Bedivere likens his sword to his fate, and I think there's something to be parsed there about how Bedivere thinks his value as a Servant has to do with relatively meager combat skills. He's felt very powerless as the normal person of the Knights of the Round Table, and even as a Servant there are many others stronger at him. Offering his sword is a humble addition, but at the same time, he's entrusting his fate - his being to Ritsuka.

And that's a tremendous offer to make to someone, to give up one's self completely in service, but even then, in his final Bond Line...he asks to be forgiven for it. As though it's a burden and imposition, so this is what I feel Ritsuka's response is, to reassure him there never is a need to feel that way and let me run screaming into the woods about how much I love them -

A part of me realizes putting my yaps in here makes my posts so reblog-unfriendly by making them a mile long, and I really should just let the illustration speak for itself like all the awesome fan artists do, but no, I can never realize that and will forever be sinking my posts into the great ol' pit of the Internets.
