You can't see me
Hi darling! What a beautiful day today has been :) feels like the old days! I wanted to ask if you could help explain the significance of the honey bee too Harry was seen wearing today… everyone of freaking out about it but I am new to the fandom and really don’t understand what it means and why it’s so big that he’s wearing it today? I’ve seen so many accounts tweet about it but nobody is giving a clear explanation on what the importance is so I was hoping you could help! Thanks in advance Gina <3 https://x.com/_morethanahabit/status/1933622703925195083?s=46
Ah. So, I see a few things going on. Some people think his bee shirt has to do with the Manchester Bee, which... I really don't think it does. The Manchester Bee is a very specific bee illustration, but whatever. Maybe it's connected, but I think people are connecting it because Louis is in Manchester, and we saw a photo today of Harry carrying a checkered bag. Checkered flag, bee, baby gate.
Personally, I don't think any of this means babygate is ending. But there are fans who think everything checkered is a sign. 🤷🏻♀️
In general, bees are connected to Louis and to babygate. Waaaay back in 2015 Louis was quoted as saying he was "buzzin'" and threw up in his own mouth when asked how he felt about being a dad. In 2016, fandom began to talk a lot about getting bee tattoos when babygate ended. At some point many of us had a bee as our avatar to show support for Louis. In early 2017 when he was doing promo with Steve Aoki, Steve referred to Louis' fans as "an army of bees." It all came to a head when H got a VERY big, very angry-looking bee tattoo in April 2017, which felt like a response tattoo, like the dagger did when Louis got it.
Here's my ARMY OF BEES tag.
Here's my BEE TATTOO tag
The photo on the left is from today (June 13, 2025). The photo on the right is from when he was doing Harry's House promo (so... early 2022? I'm terrible with dates).

The bee is a Franklin's bumblebee aka scientific name Bombus Franklini. They're native to where I was born but they're believed to be extinct. The last one was seen in 2006. But some of their habitat is very remote and people still go out looking for them and I think that says a lot about humanity's capacity for hope! And they COULD still be out there! We've found "extinct" bees out there living their best little bee lives before!
Gotta name the bee. Its stage name is Franklini the Great because my tattoo artist thinks Franklini sounds like the name of a stage magician. But its other name. The name behind the act. I have so many ideas (some given to me by others)
Beenjamin Franklin
Frank Beenatra
Abeetha Franklin
Franklin Delano Buzzevelt
Sting
There’s something about tattooing tiny pieces of nature that makes my heart so happy. This little bumblebee was such a joy to create—small, delicate, and full of life. I’ve always felt connected to the natural world, drawn to the quiet magic found in every leaf, petal, and wing. There’s a kind of reverence in permanently marking someone with a piece of that beauty, as if we’re carrying a little bit of the wild with us wherever we go.
The best tattoos always come with stories, and this one was no exception. My client told me about an 8-hour kayaking trip she took, where a bumblebee landed on her leg—right where this tattoo now sits—and stayed with her for quite a stretch of the journey. It was one of those rare, peaceful moments that just sticks with you. So, she decided to honor that little bee by making it a constant companion. Now, it’s with her for every new adventure.
We laughed the whole session, imagining how many people might instinctively try to swat at her leg this summer when they catch a glimpse of this tiny guy. But honestly? I love that it’s a piece that’ll spark those double-takes—like nature itself, quietly surprising and sweet.
I love what I do. I love the conversations, the laughter, the shared moments, and the trust that goes into every piece. And I love that, in some small way, I get to turn fleeting moments—like a bee hitching a ride on a summer day—into something lasting.
