These Slow Cooker Italian Shredded Beef Hoagies will make you feel like you're in Italy. Onion, pepper, and Italian seasonings are used to cook tender beef, which is then served on crusty hoagie rolls.
Ingredients: 3 lbs beef chuck roast. 1 onion, thinly sliced. 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced. 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced. 1 cup beef broth. 1/2 cup tomato sauce. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning. 1 teaspoon dried oregano. 1 teaspoon dried basil. Salt and pepper to taste. 6 hoagie rolls. Provolone cheese slices optional. Giardiniera optional, for topping.
Instructions: Put the beef chuck roast in the crock pot. On top of the roast, put slices of onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper. Italian seasoning, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper should all be mixed together in a bowl with beef broth. Add the mix to the slow cooker with the beef and vegetables. Leave the lid on and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 to 5 hours, until the beef is soft and can be shred with a fork. Take the beef out of the slow cooker and use two forks to shred it. After adding the vegetables and cooking liquid back to the slow cooker, stir the shredded beef in well to mix everything together. Cut the hoagie rolls in half and put the shredded beef mixture inside them. You can add provolone cheese slices and giardiniera on top if you want to make it taste better. Enjoy while hot!
