Ámaris’ Latest Single Embraces New Beginnings

Ámaris Wen Emersleben, artistically known as Ámaris, is the Swiss born and London-based recording artist, music producer, actor, and songwriter. She just released her new electro-pop single, “Been Doing This,” about embracing new beginnings and never giving up.

Ámaris initially wrote this song as a song for her 2020 album, Dream World, but then decided to trash it. It didn’t make the final version of the album, but recently, she found the song again while working on another project and gave it another try. It has a Doja Cat quality to it with a hint of Pendulum.

“Sometimes you just shouldn’t give up and keep going. And sometimes you first have to toss something into the trash can to transform it into your new single,“ shares Ámaris.

Outside of her music, Ámaris has been working on a music documentary called “On Tape,” following female music producers and their experiences within the industry.  After talks with other female-identifying producers, Ámaris felt that there weren’t that many female music producers who talk about what it is like to be a music producer and how you can become one. This project is a small step into a more equal industry in which female music producers offer some sort of mentorship to upcoming artists.

Ámaris is also an advocate for clean oceans and is an ambassador for the non-profit organization Big Blue Ocean Clean-up, which works on reducing plastic waste in the oceans.
