My journey through the world of beer
I was still 20 when I applied for a job at a new restaurant around town that would be home to over 100 craft brews.
Beers from near and far were going to be right at my fingertips and I had no clue what that would ever have to do with me.
I turned 21 a month after working there and thought I’d broaden my horizons and finally taste a beer that wasn’t Budweiser or Bud Light. The first craft beer I ever tasted was a Paulaner Hefeweizen and I have yet to look back since then.
I went from this uneducated student that had only just realized there were beers that came in other colors besides yellow/gold to this explorer in a whole new world with a ton of adult beverages for me to try that were each made with a love and craft.
I wouldn’t call myself a pro when it comes to beer but at this point, I am definitely snobby when it comes to what a restaurant or bar offers for beer. I don’t understand how people can even waste their time or money on Budweiser products, Coors, Miller, Michelob or any of the other popular shit that’s out today; let alone call those their favorite beers. Yuck. I want to take every one of those people and open their eyes to what they could possibly be enjoying but they aren’t. None of those brands are actual beer anyways. Beer has 4 key ingredients, of which, those companies only use 1 or 2 of.
So yes, I like beer. I don’t chug it or get drunk off of them. I’ll have one or two at most in a sitting and thoroughly enjoy the complexity of their aroma, body, and taste. If anyone is ever curious or in need of some beer guidance/knowledge, message me please! I’ll be more than willing to help!
