The bee post: only one species of bee was added and if I remember correctly it doesn't even live in america! Bees are in danger as numbers drop but op didn't do a good job specifying. I'm save the bees too but this post is misinformational and causing unnecessary anxiety as it implies all bees are going extinct riht this second

While I agree in general about not falling prey to ‘fear tactics’ or panic, I do have a handful of reasons for why I reblogged (I assume is this post):

1) It was, to me, a post that was actually a lot less alarmist than other posts I’ve seen floating around in the past few years, which is generally why i weigh out reblogging something like this. but idk i’m bad at telling tone unless it’s super duper obvious/aggressive. 2) it gave actual ways to help that didn’t have the tone of “if you don’t right now you will be murdering bees” or “u need to write hundreds of letters to govt!!” plus some, like planting native plants and such, has a LOT of benefits beyond helping bees. 3) given the time frame on the post, it seemed prudent to reblog the tip about mowing tho I am not a bee expert so Idk how much it would help in the long run but I don’t think it can hurt either.

And this wasnt one of my forethought reasons but in retrospect it could have been: even if the species in question was not North American, that is not a reason not to reblog as bees are an international necessity. It is a north American species called the rusty patched bumblebee tho. They’re super fuzzy and tubby! c:
