Do you actually ship Lydia and beetlejuice or is it platonic

The term, “shipping” can mean romantically, platonic, or anything in the realm of being in a caring relationship. That being said, the context changes for me depending on what we’re talking about.

The problem comes up when people don’t understand that concept. Saying you “ship” two characters doesn’t mean, “I want these two characters to fuck” all the time.I DO NOT want an underage girl fucking an animated dead guy (animated as in he’s not technically “alive). That being said, as I watch the movie and especially the cartoon, I think to myself, “These characters have amazing chemistry,” they work well together; they’re a fun duo. I love seeing them as friends and there being conflict between them because it’s (in the movie) realistic or (in the cartoon) cute.

The thought of, “I want these characters to fuck,” is the THOUGHT that if Lydia were way older, an actual adult who’s living on her own and what not, her being with Beetlejuice would be amazing, I’d root for that. That’s where fanart, cosplay, fanfiction, and common nsfw roleplay comes in. People who commonly ship these characters want to see these characters succeed LATER ON in life.

I’ve never seen someone who ships these characters want to fuck when Lydia is a goddamn child or underage. Ever. 

I feel like every time I get asked this I need to stand up for these people because I see it a lot, someone thinking that we’re rooting for pedophilia or some shit when that’s not the case at all. Context and nuance matters, kids. That’s just the way life is.So I hope that answers your question and clears up any thoughts for you and everyone else reading this.
