This is only the second book, but I'm getting the impression Sanderson is a fan of slow starts.

Mistborn was a drag after the initial little burst then picked up beautifully after the halfway mark.

Don't know if I made it known here that I've been obsessed with the Locked Tomb series, but anyway, now I'm telling y'all.

If you're looking for something to read I HIGHLY recommend it. There's necromancy, there's murder-mysteries, sword fighting, there's a protagonist who would give Barnaby a run for his money in the himbo/jock race.

It's been publicized as lesbian necromancers in space, but ehhhh, focus on the mystery aspect with considerable notes of Hunger Games...... except it's funny and witty.
