#before kpop

Damn. Ever since GOT7 left the kpop game, I’m kind of like....over it all. I still have a lot of groups I listen to and love, but it’s all very casually. Like, I’ll go through phases where I listen to only Day6, or only girl groups, or only Monsta X. And when concerts are a thing again I’m sure that will ignite my interest. But aside from the sevens I kind of just don’t care about any of it anymore. Now that they’re not in the grind with the rest of my groups it’s effectively put up a wall where I’m watching the kpop side with kind of a detached interest.

On the flip side, I’m hyper fixated on GOT7. More than I was? Maybe. It feels like it. It feels like a defense mechanism at this point. I feel myself putting up walls to other things as well, not just kpop, and that’s probably something I need to address with myself but I guess for now I’ll just double down on word vomiting about them and them only.

Before Kpop Tag!

I was tagged by nickyy-kkaebsong kailaystan and topptao 💜💜💜 ly So I’m supposed to talk about what music I listened to before Kpop and what my thoughts were on kpop back then. And tag 10 new people after I have done it. Sounds fun, let’s do this :) Ahhh so where do i start..before Kpop I used to basically listen to all genres except kpop! I went through a One Direction and 5sos phase but thank god that is all over now. The problem back then is that I would eventually get bored of the songs but with kpop that never happened! I also listen to rock music like Asking Alexandria, Pierce the Veil , Sleeping with Sirens, BMTH and FOB etc.. i have seen most of these bands live and will continue to see them live because I still absolutely love rock music. Back then i knew kpop really existed but I really never had a thought on it! I just thought that I would never like or listen to it! However one day I saw a friend post about it on fb and i thought why don't I listen to it? That was when i found my beautiful sons EXO. Ugh and I fell in love!! The first song I listened too was Call me baby and kai just dragged me right in aha! I them found wolf my FAV SONG EVER !! I them went on to listen to other songs and kpop groups and now i am OBSESSED. I listen to kpop on replay and rarely any other music anymore. That doesnt matter tho because kpop is AMAZING! I dont know what I would do with out it.. Before Kpop - tag

I was tagged by chencharming and seriously, thank you for alwys tagging me, the tags always are so nice!

Okay, I’m supposed to tell you about my music taste and what I thought ‘bout kpop before I got into it.

Well, actually there isn’t that much which changed after I got into Kpop.

So before I used to listen to Punk Rock, Rock, Pop, Classic and Alternative. I had several 4 till 5 hours long playlists I listened to every day. I also only “stanned” one band, my fave punk rock band. (Though to me stanning a band or bandmembers is equal to fangirling, since I never stan someone so hard that I develop actual feelings, I just fangirl.)

Concerning Kpop…hmm…well I always knew there were genres like Kpop and Jpop and I also new some title tracks of anime series, cause a friend of mine and me had an anime run in summer holiday while I stayed at hers throughout three weeks. :D I never considered it strange that people would like it and I also did understand that they like it though they might not understand the lyrics, so I was very neutral towards kpop and jpop I guess.

But except for that I only knew that Kpop existed, I never had the urge or need to check it out, I didn’t even know what to look for exactly so, yeah… Then a friend of mine told me about her fave band Vixx and I was like: “What kind of band is it? I never heard of it.” And she told me they’re Kpop Artists and she recommended me to check them out and so I did. The next day she asked me how I thought about them and I was like: “ They’re really good.” And wanted to keep it down a bit that they got me from the first note they sang, but after she stated that people tend to consider Kpop weird, I was shocked and told her that I understand people not knowing about kpop and therefore not listening to it, but I didn’t get why people would consider kpop strange or weird. She was satisfied and asked me whether I understood the text and I told her no, but I looked up the translation afterwards. At the end of the day she recommended me to check out BigBang, SNSD and EXO as well and again I did, she also challenged me to get to know the names of all members of Vixx and Exo in a week and well, I passed ^^. Since that moment I informed myself more and more and I liked it more and more and now I’m here and able to write this tag. :D

Now I’m still listening to all my former fave music genres, but mainly to kpop, and my playlists changed into lists full of kpop mixed with a bit pop, punk, alternative & classic. XD
