People don't understand that for a lot of artists, their sketchpads and books are as personal as a diary. Like it's a place where they can dump their weird ideas and shit, sometimes without even thinking. Of course artists can get upset when people go through their sketchbooks without asking, would people be okay if someone went through their diary without asking
#art#artblr#psa#don't be that person#ASK FIRST#similarly don't go digging through the trash to find something an artist threw out#they don't want people to see it for a reason#don't give them anxiety about throwing away any art ever because they have evidence someone will always dig it up#i know two people who are so anxious about this they actually erase entire drawings THEN SCRIBBLE OVER TOP OF THAT#so people can't see what they originally made#before trashing it!
