“Picacho Peak Sunrise” - just finished last night- based on a photo I took while we were driving up to Phoenix from #Tucson , about a week before the entire world changed . Picacho Peak is a significant landmark for a number of reasons, historic and geographic. For me, it means I’m close to the place I’ve been calling home for the last 28 years #tucsonarizona . Acrylic on wood 8”x12” . . . #beforelockdown my paintings were pretty chaotic- always searching and undefined…today I paint the pieces I had always set aside, thinking that I’d get to them someday. Now it seems that my focus snapped into place- I’m simply enjoying the #pleasureofpainting , without agendas or my ever present cynicism.
