Somewhere Out of Space and Time
Rating: M (language)
Pairing: Begelle (Belle x Begbie - Trainspotting)
Summary: Belle gets on a late night train to London to flee her life, and when it breaks down in the middle of nowhere, makes an unexpected connection with her seatmate. (this is currently a one-shot, but could be a longer fic. if people want.)

It was as if the train sensed Belle’s dread. From the second she boarded, all it did was rattle and shake and make a strange whining noise that the porter assured her was fine and normal, though she couldn’t remember it from any train she’d ever been on.
She had a table seat, which had been more luck than anything, but she was glad for the place to put her tea and her book even though she was too anxious to read. She tried her best, focusing hard when a man finally boarded in Edinburgh and sat across from her while giving her the eye, then propped his feet up, plopped a beer can on the table, and promptly fell asleep holding it.
If only Belle could sleep. If only she would not arrive in London in eight hours or less, in the middle of the night, and then have a taxi drop her off on a disappointed father’s doorstep. If only a fairy godmother would sit next to her and turn her into anything that did not have to do that—pumpkin or princess, she wouldn’t complain.

TMI Tuesday!
Hi! Hello! I keep forgetting to post this on Tuesdays but IT IS ALWAYS TMI TUESDAY, TO ME.
Some updates:
Despite starting five days late, I have caught up with myself and am back on track to complete not-nanowrimo. Sitting currently at almost 30k words.
That means I have not been working much on fic so I am trying to stretch what I have but bear with me. There will be an IGTBA update tomorrow and then it will go on hiatus for the holidays. I will NOT post fic the week of Thanksgiving unless I post a rumbelle thanksgiving fic 👀 (also might post the begelle since I have it. but might skip it for holiday reasons. IDK WE'LL SEE)
if anyone has any prompt lists that I can use for inspo, pls send them to me. pls. i am racking (wracking???) my brain for ideas. I have some but none of them are Speaking to me. I have a very delicate process xD
annnyway. All that is to say that uh. my inbox is open!

Today was no different than yesterday had been. Belle had no fewer friends than she had twenty-four hours ago. She still slept in her childhood bedroom, half-turned to storage. She still woke when her dad’s alarm went off at six to do deliveries and laid in bed, staring at the glow-in-the-dark stars on her ceiling.
But a piece of her had fallen off somewhere between fuck that and fuck off. She had read Franco on the train, she thought, but she probably should have known that the common ground she imagined between them was the product of no sleep, the adrenaline of finally leaving Gaston, and being stuck on the same train.
Still, it had been a nice memory. A good memory. A stranger had taken the time to connect with her, and even though the memory had faded, even though she’d expected never to see him again, it had meant something to her.
She couldn’t make herself get out of bed to get ready. For an hour and a half, she’d lain there, comforter pulled to her chin, watching the stars until the room flooded with morning light and then switching to the clock.
If she didn’t get up, her father would be disappointed. He was disappointed that she was twenty-seven and divorced already, and she couldn’t make this his problem too.
