Musicbuffs: Beghairat Brigade's new video and Indian music scene.

One thing which Indian music scene lacks is original and contextual acts. By original act I mean a musician or a band which can express in our languages and in their own style with their own sound.

Bollywood music as a genre is a dominant force, aided by a brigade of neo-modernist musicians who have a very limited reach. I am not commenting upon their music, which ranges from good to horrible, but then they express about what they know,which is very limited.

However, things have started to change for good. The rise of Honey Singh foretells that people are willing to listen to music, which they can relate to ( Not all of them though).

On the contrary,  Pakistan's music scene is vibrant and it has always showcased musicians and artists who are original acts from the early days of its Gazal singers to Hasan Jahangir of Hawa Hawa fame to Junoon and numerous others.

Latest to join the scene are Beghairat Brigade, a band which stands out for its satirical lyrics and crisp music. They have a very unique sound and they are also known for producing fresh, quirky yet meaningful videos.
