I would suggest Frigg or the norns personally! 🤎🦋 The norns are associated with weaving the fates and Frigg has been said to have a similar role ~ there's also a 12th century painting in a German church that features her(speculatively) holding a distaff. 🧵

Venerating Ogma--Last day prep

So I’ve set on a date for my veneration of Ogma--tomorrow, since I have a day off for the MLK Jr holiday. And I’m getting excited but also nervous, since I want to do this well.

For part of the ritual, after I’ve washed but before I read the bits from the Inheritance Cycle, I think I’d like to formally introduce myself to Ogma--but I don’t know how. Are there any conventions I should know about to follow?

And does anyone have general advice for a first ritual, or for contacting Ogma specifically?

I’m also really concerned that I won’t know if my ritual was “heard” or accepted. Any advice on that end?

I sent out thanks to the greek gods and then got a bunch of specific dreams that i could identify as relating back to certain gods, a dream of healing wounds for apollo, a dream of hard coins and long roads for hermes, shining bright moon for artemis, the mystery and cold of a corpse from hades, large amounts of money for zeus or possibly also hades...

Each dream seemed so clear at the time but now that im waking they seem very far away like most dreams do.

I had been thinking about beginning to honor the gods and sent out the thanks as a kind of introduction and i guess it worked because ive never remembered so many dreams at once, at least none that could coherently be connected to anything. Im gonna take this as a sign my thanks were well received at least in part and try more small devotional acts

I’m a baby witch and I was wondering if you could help me. There are so many deity’s to choose from how did you decide which one(s) to go with?

Finding deities for yourself is different for everyone! 💚 I initially tried to reach out by using a pendulum to pick the mythology and then narrow down which gods from there. That didn't go well for me, mostly because I didn't really connect to the Greek mythos but I've seen it work for others!!

I ended up connecting to the Norse pantheon because a cousin lent me a book about some of their stories and fell in love when I eventually read it. From there I did a tarot reading and had a friend do a rune reading to clarify what I read! That's how I came to Frigg & Hel. The other gods rolled in on their own or cause I decided to reach out. 🖤

I don't think there's any "best" way to find a deity for yourself if you decide you want/need one! I would just go by trial and error, there's no harm in practicing with one religion to decide you don't mesh and try a new one. 🧡✨

Read some stories, articles, posts, etc. see what peaks your interest! Or work on finding one related to your line of practice ~ ex. Aphrodite or Freya for glamour/love witches, Óðinn, Freya, Frigg, etc. for magic, etc. 💚

Hiya, not to bother you or anything, but do you know of any witches who pray to Aphrodite or Athena? I'm unable to practice openly ATM but I thought it'd be cool to see if I'm not the only one devoted to them

heyo! i have recently gotten into wicca/pagan culture and i’m trying to expand my range of deities and gods. i fall under the category of a death witch/necromancer and i’m looking to see what kind of deities fit that kind of aesthetic. can you help me out?

I don’t know anything about Wicca or religions outside of Norse paganism but Norse death gods would be Hel, Óðinn, Freyja, and I think you could fuck with Valkyries.

Also, I googled death gods and like a giant list on Wikipedia popped up so you should also check that out.

hey, so im still trying to figure out what feels right for me in my craft, and ive been really identifying with both norse paganism and celtic druidry. is it possible for me to either combine the two or simultaneously practice both? thank you so much! (also im very new to paganism, so any good beginner resources would be v appreciated if you wouldn't mind 💕)

You can definitely practice both at the same time! 💖 I always recommend asking which ever gods you plan on working with that they’re comfortable with the others(they typically are).

hello! i just have a small question about devotional jewellery; when you dedicate jewellery to the gods, do you do it in ritual or do you just, like, HEY THIS IS FOR U? :p thanks for everything you do btw! i hope you get your old blog back ♡

It switches!! For instance I have rose quartz necklace that I very casually told Frigg I would wear for her on sad days. I also have an ocean jasper piece I did a whole blood ritual for to devote to Thor & Sif but I specifically only wear it during blóts. 🌿 You can do either or!! Or something in between, it’s really up to you. But I do feel like doing it in a ritual makes it more magically charged.
