Did something new and totally off the wall! Made my first video with @adobepremierecc and @adobeaftereffects2017 . Finally picked up a guitar and figured it would be a good subject to learn how to make videos. @martyschwartz @realandyguitar @justinguitar @yourguitarsage #guitar #beginnerguitar #beginnerguitarist #acousticguitar #acoustic #music #icandothis #justtry #practice #morale #playasong @yamahamusicusa
3NPS Phrygian Mode Patterns for Shredding
Hi everyone,
The next chart in the series of 3NPS for shredding is completed: the exotic Phrygian mode.
You know, we keep saying it's exotic, even though it's so widely used, that we can just stop saying that :P Just kidding. I guess it's just that we convey the emotion with this word, the mood, and not the fact that it's from faraway lands…
The chart is already available in all 3 common variations that I usually produce:
■ with beginner-friendly note names ■ as generic intervals ■ and as blanks for those who like it clean!
Download them all here (variations are linked down at the bottom)
Hope you have fun with it!

3NPS patterns: Lydian Vs Major (minimalistic design)
This reference has minimalistic design with no extra guidance and with scale notes shown as empty shapes providing a clean, uncluttered look. Choose whatever variation helps you most at any given moment!

When you follow the link you'll also find a related variation of the same reference with note names and generic intervals!

3NPS Patterns Made Easy: Lydian vs Major
Let's continue the series of learning 3NPS scales by comparison. This time it's all about dreamy Lydian!
This reference features diagrams with beginner-friendly note names instead of generic intervals and other types of presentation you might not yet be comfortable with.

In the near future I will post a variation with generic intervals as well, so check back later!

5 CAGED shapes of C-Major pentatonic (chart)
Here's my next chart to help you learn the 5 shapes (a.k.a patterns, a.k.a positions) of C-Major pentatonic of the CAGED system for guitar. Fretboard diagrams are stacked and aligned horizontally to show you where patterns line up. The circles have scale note names. Root tones have a stronger visual emphasis to provide soloing landmarks and a better overview of the shape's primary "anchor points" to help you memorize and internalize all 5 shapes.

Pro tip: the shapes are identical for all Major pentatonic scale roots, not just C-Major. For example, to get CAGED shapes for the G-Major pentatonic scale you just need to align the E-shape's (pattern 1) root tone with the 3rd fret of the lowest 6th string (all the adjacent shapes get shifted along with it).
If you follow the link there is also a variation of the same reference with intervals instead of the note names if that's more your thing.
Hey hit that Like button for me if you're an awesome person and you find this content helpful :) Happy learning! Oleg
Top 5 guitar chords that will make you pick up the guitar
This guitar chord chart is designed for those who have never picked up a guitar but want to play something straight away. I’ve mindfully removed all distractions to let you focus on just placing your fingers and actually playing the chords. There are hundreds of chord variations on a guitar but these are the top 5 essential chords that every beginner player should learn. They are also not random chords but the ones which work and sound good together. Chords in this collection: G, Am, C, D, Em
Highlights:
■ For beginners with no experience ■ No confusing theory and symbols ■ Easily playable ■ All chords sound good together ■ All chords have 1 or more open strings ■ Both major (“happy”) and minor (“sad”) chords ■ Only one basic type of chords—triads ■ No hard-to-play barre chords ■ Shows which fingers to use ■ Chords that are used by popular songs
