Have you ever noticed any behavioral differences in between light and dark skinned women? Explain.
- “ To be honest I haven't really notice any differences myself. However there are differences portrayed in the media such as dark skinned women being portrayed as angry, and violent. These are negative portrayals I've seen in the media. I've also seen light skinned women portrayed as prissy, sensitive and shallow. Both portrayals of these kinds of women have been seen a lot in popular media portrayals.”
- “ YES. Some, but not all light skinned women may act as if they are better and more attractive than dark skinned women because they are lighter. This is not an inherent trait. In many cases, because society treats light skinned women like they have more value, many light skinned women act as if they are. This behavior is all a learned response from society.”
- “ No, I have not. People are people. Society has created these stereotypes that the population does not fit.”
- “ I've seen both say and do things about the other but I've noticed that the lighter complexioned female usually tosses a commonly accepted negative stereo type about the darker one, Aunt Jamama, for example, in order to get the conditioned crowd to be on her side.”
- “ I have noticed slight differences between light and dark skinned women but this behavioral difference does not include all light and dark skinned women that I have met. I think this difference is due to the "light skin vs. dark skin" trend that was well known on social media a little less than a year ago.”
- “ No I have friends of a variety of skin tones and none of them show behavioral differences due exclusively to skin tone.”
- “ Behavior on social media seems to be affected. Light skin toned women seem to have a sense of entitlement in most cases.”
