Aside from the fact that Break himself can be a real big handful, is that Break essentially has little to no filter. He doesn't care, and in a lot of cases he DOES and so he has no problem with calling out people's bullshit. No one likes to have their bullshit called out ALL the time so naturally no one likes being around him. I love him so much T.T
Bay Leaf and Iris?
Bay leaf: What gives your character strength?
[ His family. More so than his loyalty, his actions are driven primarily by love, affection, and devotion. The young man recognizes that he would be absolutely nothing without those about him to support him in his times of need, whether it be on the battlefield or in the ballroom. It is togetherness and bonds born not of blood that bind the Baskervilles to one another, and Fang recognizes that while they are not related, they could be nothing short of his beloved family. ]
Iris: If your character could send one person a message, who and what would it be?
[ …Nothing. Because the only thing he withholds is the one thing he knows he can never speak aloud, and it is the only sentiment he can never give breath to. To speak such words would hurt and confuse the one he cherishes most, and the Baskerville would far, far rather swallow that affection than ever cause her any anguish… So it’s just… better to stay silent, isn’t it? Until the very end. ]

☠: Drinking Headcanon
[ Fang never very much took to drinking, and he refrains from partaking of alcohol unless the social convention calls for it. As always, he would accept a glass or two of wine to be polite, but he would never drink so much that it would compromise his ability to fulfill his duty. ]
[ Which, naturally, would take quite a lot of alcohol; his tolerance is reasonably high. ]

☾: Sleep Headcanon
[ Fang sleeps in the starfish position: arms and legs splayed out, occupying most of the bedspace. It’s associated with those individuals who tend to make friends easily and listen well, but they also prefer to let others bask in attention as they watch from the background. As he sleeps on his back, he cannot help but snore… and loudly, too. ]
☮: Random Headcanon
[ He is not one to feel self-conscious about his appearance. Considering himself reasonably plain is not considered self-depreciation in his eyes; as a servant, he does not have the luxury of seeking a suitor and thus attracting someone’s interest is not a high priority. Besides, welcoming Lily to the household proves to be far more important a matter to him than his own looks. He has tattoo’d the mark of the devil upon his face, but he would never regret permanently “defacing" himself for the benefit of his foster daughter. ]
☯: Pet Peeve Headcanon
[ While difficult to annoy, he can’t help but be agitated when another member of the household enters his room and rearranges the furniture. He is not overly private about his personal possessions, but he keeps his quarters organized in quite the particular way — it makes it far easier for him to find his way around the space in a timely manner. Nothing embarrasses him more than tripping over a stool that was not there the night before. ]

Ruby — Something that gives them strength.
[Oddly enough, his visual handicap. In his younger days, he would lapse into bouts of self-pity and helplessness because he believed himself incapable of doing anything worthwhile; he literally managed to defeat himself before he even tried. Over time, though, he realized that to keep up with another’s “average" he would need to adapt and work that much harder in order to match those basic accomplishments — and, eventually, surpass them altogether. Because of his poor vision, he pushes himself to the limit in any other way he can in order to recover lost ground, and because he uses his “handicap" as a motivational tool rather than a reason for self-depreciation, Fang has discovered that even he can have his own use.]
Peridot — Their worst nightmare?
[Failing to protect his family — even moreso than failing Glen. Though, yes, Fang feels loyalty towards his master, the actual love and affection he harbors for Lily, Lottie, and Dug eclipses that fealty entirely. Should they ever come to harm (or worse, be killed), that damage would be tantamount to destroying him, as well.]
Rose Quartz — How they display affection.
[Fang can be a bit tricky here. For the most part, he cannot help but be boisterous and playful in the presence of young Lily (and Lottie and Dug should they be present, too). He openly showers her with affection: piggyback rides, hair tousling, time spent reading and drawing together, kisses upon the top of her head… Truly, if it will make Lily smile, no matter how ridiculous he must behave, he will do it for her. His affection for his adult peers, though, is far more reserved. Dug and he have something more akin to a brotherly bond, but most of the love passed between them is expressed in silent gestures. Lottie… Well, he would never deny her physical closeness should she wish for it, but he seldom initiates it himself. Fang manages to conceal his deeper affection for her, knowing full well that she does not look at him the same way. Were he free to do so, he would idly toy with her hair and hold her hand ever so gently — and kiss the top of her head, too.]
Lapis Lazuli — Would they be a faithful partner?
[Only the most devoted.]
♘: Headcanon: Eyesight
[As a child, prior to receiving the blessing of the Golden Lights, Fang suffered from a serious bout of meningitis, and the illness spread to the other members of his village. Though the infection failed to kill him, he did not recover without permanent consequence. The "brain fever" left him with cortical visual impairment (CVI), a form of partial blindness. From then on, the boy would struggle with seemingly basic visual tasks but was not left crippled by the damage caused by his sickness. He suffers from variable vision, and his visual acuity fluctuates from either manageable problems (fatigue) or total random occurrence. In addition, he can have difficulty distinguishing faces and facial expressions, has a narrowed field of view, and shows difficulty with visual processing. Because focusing on multiple targets proves tiresome, he chooses to forego eye contact and visual stimulation on a regular basis and keeps his eyes closed or in a severe squint. However, certain visual cues may be used to assist his focus and recognition, the most notable being those colors which greatly contrast their surroundings. Shades of red and yellow, for instance, are far easier to distinguish than any others, and so he can more readily recognize his comrades by the crimson of their cloaks and Lily and Lottie by their unusually-colored hair -- this may aid him even if he cannot manage to make out facial features.]
[As a way to compensate for his visual impairment, he relies far more on his senses of touch, smell, and hearing in order to map out his environment. By favoring his sword in combat, he can physically feel the tension and strength of his opponent, effectively seeking to control their movements and confine the enemy into a narrower range he can manage more easily. Tove, his Chain, may be used to help him detect and attack especially difficult targets -- Xerxes Break, for example. Because using Tove in combat limits his "visual" capabilities, he chooses to rely on swordsmanship instead. Those suffering from CVI have also been shown to exhibit instances of blindsight, a phenomenon where the visually impaired appear to anticipate and "see" obstacles in their surroundings through some sort of other-sensory guesswork. Likewise, Fang may use this to his advantage, though it cannot be tapped into at will.]
[His troubles did not end there, though, as the people of his village did not at all take kindly to a young Fang as the only survivor of the outbreak. Suspected as the cause of the devastation, he was subsequently driven out and left to fend for himself until the Abyss called out to him. Though, due to the fact he suffered the damage to his sight prior to his acceptance as a Baskerville, his impairment failed to heal and affects him into his adult life.]
