Fall Shoot with Christy
So here is another post: I am getting some positive feedback on them so far but I am not really sure how you get followers on here, so any advice would be appreciated! Recently I was able to get in touch with beautiful Christy F. and we set up some "fall style" concepts. It was great working with Christy and hearing how she has continued to pursue modeling despite the hardships of cystic fibrosis, she was wonderful in every way! The first idea was to go into a nearby field with some fur coats and see what we came up with. My goal was to give it a kind of "desolate" look, which I think came out well. I purchased one coat from Goodwill and my mother-in-law loaned me another. I've found its always best to ask around before you buy, I've saved a lot of money this way and gotten some cool props for shoots! To get the image sharper and to draw out the blue in the sky since the sun was making it look white, I used both my portable strobe and Yongnuo 467ii from about 5 feet away shooting at 250 F11 on Vivid. Christy's hair contrasted great with the background and wardrobe, which was an additional bonus to the picture! Next we headed to a second field which was only a few minutes away from the first. My second idea was to have Christy in a long sweater (with shorts underneath) surrounded by these bright purple flowers I saw about a week before. Unfortunately, fall in Ohio means that a week later those flowers were almost dead...but we were able to work with it. I shot a few pictures further out but the purple was just not coming out at all, so I recomposed to have a purple flower in the foreground against the blue sky which instantly doubled the vibrance of the purple. The trees in the background show the colors of fall coming in and Christy again looks stunning! For this shot the sun was going down so I bumped my ISO up to 400, dropped my shutter to 160 at F6.3 with my strobe (to the left) as fill light to remove the shadows created by the setting sun.
