Happy Shambles: Being Cyrus Film Review
I've never heard of Homi Adajania and his works in the movie industry. He was a perfect stranger.
Stuck inside on a dreary day while browsing through recommended Bollywood films on the internet, I found this gem hidden among a plethora of gems. And quite frankly, the movie poster and the title stood out, went to my jugular and caught my attention. Imagine how vulnerable I can get? Yes, the majority may find it shallow, but it was a lovely instance after all.
Being Cyrus is a deep, intensive psychological drama which creates -most of the time- contemplative moments and shocking to cataclysmic revelations as you consume every minute of the reel. It tries to awaken your soul, connecting to its most abysmal core. It may seem disturbing, yes, but Adajania promises yet deftly crafts it with comic relief to gradually lessen any heaviness present at the film.
