being elite.

I don't watch normal television. I enjoy shows that grab my attention.. and hold it. my television is normally tuned to the Discovery or History channels. I don't care for "reality tv".. because it's not real. duh.

I listen to music that moves me. if it makes me dance, bob my head, mosh through my room, wiggle my hips, air drum/guitar, or smile.. I will buy the song/cd. I don't care who may be number one on the charts. who may be making a comeback, or fading away.

I read books that make me feel good, that make me think, or just make me forget the real world for awhile. some of them might contain conspiracy theories, or cookie recipes.

I go to the museums in all the cities I visit so I can be introduced to new art. I don't care if it started a movement, or was forgotten on a billboard. if it's beautiful, unsettling, striking, gut-wrenching, or just plain amazing.. I will like it.

I'm offended by all of these people out there who have taken this elitist attitude up. really? because, last I checked, we were all people with different attitudes and wants and needs and likes. if you want to be sooo freakin' original, how about you just do you? stop talking other people down. some of the music you listen to probably sucks, in my opinion, but you like. so keep liking it.

what's original these days? how about doing something because YOU want to do it. listen to a song because YOU like the way it sounds. go somewhere because YOU are interested in going there. buy a piece of art because YOU find it beautiful.. 

.. and you will be beautifully original.
