Why do we not only look down on people who wanna save themselves until marriage but prude shame them for it...?

Me and other people surely have gone through it. Where in the dating world, were immediately disregarded because of our choice. Where in society, still being a virgin after 18 is embarrassing. Even spitting out the word “virgin” is hard.

Why is being a virgin such a horrible thing?

Sex Stigma

So I just went on a date with someone and it went great. I had good vibes from him because of his sense of humor, how approachable and easy to talk to he was, and this suave gentleness he had about him. A second date was totally in the horizon. But then the magic disappeared instantly when I told him later that week that I was a virgin. He replied "lol for reals" and he even tried talking me out of it before saying bye-bye. I couldn't believe it. That the fact that I hadn't had sex before was the deal breaker. I'm on okc so I moved on and started talking to other people. I decided to make my non-sex life a point on my profile and the guys messaging me couldn't believe that I was serious. It's blown me away how important sex is to people. I already knew my stance was a minority but damn. It's been a discouraging week to say the least but I've been true to my values. I wonder if this is always going to be viewed as a "problem" or a situation so outrageous that they can't be with me. A couple of the guys who messaged me even told me that the odds of finding a guy who would be that patient was pretty much no one. They made it seem even unnatural...

I don't get why in movies if someone is a virgin, it's an insult. When has being a virgin become a bad thing? "You are a virgin who can't drive" -Clueless When they make fun of Jo in Mean Girls 2 for being one.. It's just ridiculous and needs to stop,
