i'm brazilian and actually at least in my state the expression goes something like "this fanta is a grape one" because the minority is the fanta grape, people don't drink it too much around here. haha just saying. it's often used by straight people and its a pejorative expression, so i don't like it much either.

what do you think about that year when gloria swanson, anne baxter and bette davis (terrific performances!) were competing for the oscar and judy holliday won? i haven't seen Born Yesterday yet to judge (nor even the Eleanor Parker movie), but i can't imagine someone superating these 3 other ladies :) xx

I love Judy Holliday and Born Yesterday was pretty great but honestly Gloria Swanson was robbed, I would have given Bette or Gloria the academy award, I would go with Gloria because Sunset Blvd was BEYOND GREAT her performance is breathtaking ugh she's so fierce and flawless, Gloria was such an incredible actress is so sad she didn't make more films because she had SO MUCH POTENTIAL, on the other side Bette as Margo damn girl, probably one of the greatest roles of all time. Born Yesterday is a great comedy and Judy is a magnificent comedienne. Don't get me started on Eleanor Parker BECAUSE SHE IS SO UNDERRATED IT MAKES ME WANT TO CRY, Eleanor Parker was one of the greatest actresses of her generation and she was completely overshadowed and left behind, it's unfair ahh it bugs me, also Anne Baxter performance as Eve was good but I think Gloria deserved more that award. Also the fact that Judy won not only THE OSCAR but THE GOLDEN GLOBE TOO. I feel the Academy robbed so many people, and they keep doing it now a days (but I won't bitch because I adore Dolores Hart)
