The essence of the liberal outlook lies not in what opinions are held: instead of being dogmatically held, they are held tentatively, and with a consciousness that new evidence may at any moment lead to their abandonment.
BERTRAND RUSSELL
The GOP is basically the political version of The Onion
It’s the idea held by generations of citizens who believed that America is a constant work in progress; who believed that loving this country requires more than singing its praises or avoiding uncomfortable truths. It requires the occasional disruption, the willingness to speak out for what’s right and shake up the status quo.

Being a Liberal... It's Gotta Be Easier
Since I've been old enough to vote I've participated in every single election cycle. During that time I have supported the Republican party both with my vote, my time, and my pocketbook.
But that being said, I'm beginning to feel that being a Conservative is really just not worth the effort. Its honestly a lot of work, seems to wildly unpopular, and its mentally exhausting. Quite frankly, it is a really time consuming to have to keep track of so much information.
I watch the news, and read almost anything put in front of me from both ideologies. The longer I've been doing that, the more I read and understand I have come to the belief that is is much easier to be a Democrat these days than a Republican.
You see, Democrats have everything pretty much lined up so its just much more organized. They have the very best communications team (ABC, CBS, CNN, & NBC) so it makes quick, easy, and efficient to get information to the masses.
They have the support of some of the brightest minds in modern day society like Lady Gaga, Angelina Jolie, Vladimir Putin, the insane lead of Iran, and so many others wonders of the world. Really who wouldn't want the support of the short insane guy from Iran?
But the best part of being a liberal, is its easy. Its actually really easy. You don't have to remember any facts, as they are irrelevant and unnecessary. Who needs facts when you have network news channels? You don't need to worry about hard questions because no one will ask them, and if they by chance accidentally do just deny any knowledge of the situation.
Hurricane Sandy was just a dust up... Libya was just a peace march... Afghanistan is just a field trip... that has lasted 10+ years. It gets better, because everything is "free" for Democrats and they graciously want to make it free for everyone. Free birth control, cell phones, homes, healthcare, money, and yes... even cars.
Of course its not free, its paid for by those who don't get free stuff. But that is beside the point. The point is that its free.
So I'm going to stop standing up for unborn babies, lower taxes, the ability to choose my healthcare future, the right to protect my family, and just become a liberal.
That way I can stop reading, get free stuff, and gladly hand over all of my money to someone else to manage for me.
