All About Belgium
Food:
Belgium is known for their Frites. Frites is French for fries, but they are a little bit thicker and can be put into different oils when being cooked. If you get them at a place on the street they typically come in a cone and a little wood fork in case, you added sauce to yours to help you eat it. In Belgium, they are also known for their waffles. They have many shops that have different toppings. Some examples are waffles with fruits, whipped cream, Nutella, sprinkles, candy, etc. These two foods are so popular in Belgium that there is at least one frites or waffle place on each street or corner. Last food I wanted to talk about is Belgium chocolate. Belgium is known for having amazing chocolate. There are many candy shops that are filled with chocolate. While I was in Belgium, I took a chocolate making class!
Public Transportation:
Belgium has a great public transportation system. You have many options including, tram, train, bike, scootered. The very first day that I was in Belgium I went and scootered to many places. This was a great way to get around Belgium because they always have a bike lane available. At first, I was nervous because when we were in London, they drove on the opposite side that we usually do in America but in Belgium they drove on the same side making to possible for me to ride a scooter to get around without getting confused. For Scooters all you need to do is download an app and set up an account then you can activate a scooter. You pay per minute. You can find bikes and scooters typically all parked in a corner together. The app tells you the closest place to park your scooter and once you done you clock out. Making it super easy and accessible to everyone!
