“Do you think I over did it?” the speedster asked as he looked down at the cart. Barry, and Iris had been tense since she found out she was pregnant. With the threat of Savitar looming over them, but thankfully that was finally done. It was one less thing to stress about, and they were able to move on with their lives. They had a life together now. Them, and their baby. They could be a family.  He couldn’t help with the sheepish smile on his lips as he showed her the stuff he placed in the shopping cart. There were toys, onesies, binkies, and maybe he shouldn’t be allowed to shop on his own.

He needs supervision. 

“......I did over did it, huh?”

Blinks.

“Iris?”

Pauses.

“This binkie is a mustache.”

IRIS: 

“Listen… it’s work. Not like I volunteer’d for this story and who said you had to tag along anyway? If you’re scared you can stay behind.” The case of the missing flowers at the graveyard. The paper wanted more halloween style stories and this was one of the few left for her department by the time she had gotten to the pile. Someone was breaking into the graveyard at night and taking things from the graves, flowers, things people left behind, etc. Iris’s job was to figure out who and why they were doing this. It wasn’t as dangerous as her usual cases but certainly more fun, especially getting to tease Oliver.

“Well, I’m not going to let you wander into a GRAVEYARD in the middle of the night all by yourself. Do you know how many crazies are out there?” He, at least, can fight off a couple dozen of them if need be. This far from home, if he has to punch a soul or two the backlash can only be so brutal, ignoring the fact that a mayor should never be seen punching civilians. “NOTHING scares me, Iris. The things I’ve seen, Central City is like... sunshine and rainbows all the time.” Except for that time he got obliterated in a barn. Thanks, Barry, for reversing that timeline. // @believeinxtheimpossible

The glare glance that Neva spared at the group of girls passing by couldn’t have been more obvious yet she didn’t feel the need to mask it as the conversation halted until they were out of earshot. Once they were in their privacy once more, a softer expression returned to her face and attention back to the woman sitting in front of her. 

“Okay, but seriously. Assuming that he had grown his beard at a normal rate that it would’ve taken him out of the Speed Force, it could be assumed he was in there for maybe two months ma.. But we know he was in there for six months our time therefore he couldn’t have been going indefinitely into the future a couple thousand years but, instead, going slower than our time. In which he would have enough time to create his own language, grow the facial hair and become temporarily driven insane with the length of time.”

They had done a good job keeping the secret so far. Usually he wasn’t the best at lying but the professionalism he kept around Iris while in the same room with Joe was slightly easier than he thought. It was a little awkward and keeping the secret (at her request) wasn’t entirely what he wanted though he found himself complying mostly because she was going through so much already. And he wanted to make her happy. That was the most important. She had him to lean on and he wasn’t planning on going anywhere. It had only been a few weeks but despite that, Eddie thought things were going pretty well.  

The detective nodded, a small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth while his thumb gently stroked her cheek. “And you know, I’d do just about anything to try and help you?” He asked, throwing her question back at her in a way that had him smiling a tad wider.

                          “Hey, there’s my baby girl!” Joe threw an arm around his daughter’s shoulders, pulling her in to he could press a kiss to her temple. “If you’re here to see your boyfriend, he just ran out to get lunch, so... here’s your chance to pretend you’re actually here to check on your old man for a change.”
