Someone at Burke Manor wanted to make sure this reached you.
Bella didn't find her note until late in the night. She had noticed the tone shift, the way people were looking at each other, mistrust clear on all of their faces. Something was going down, something which was slowly sweeping everyone up in its wake.
She was almost disappointed to be excluded, her preference, of course, would always be to be the one causing chaos, but she would have settled for being a target.
It was better than being forgotten.
Turns out, all she needed to do was open her bag. When she finally did, there it was, sitting at the top, her name printed in cursive on the envelope.
She tore into it like a child on Christmas morning. Excited to know what she would find.
The result was a disappointment - the Dark Lord was questioning her? Probably, she wouldn't respect him if he wasn't, but Bella knew there was nothing for him to find. No one was as dedicated. No one put in the effort the way she did. She was the best of them all, the most devout. Let him question, he would find nothing.
But now she was curious. Was it noted like this putting everyone on edge? If so, what did others get? What might a note to Cissa say? Or Rodolphus?
Did Andromeda get one? Did it call her a traitor?
Bella hoped so. She wished she'd written it herself.
