Actually the nose wipe was to hide the fact she was a night blood and not purely outta love (also why he cut himself and put blood on her front) but nevertheless the way he does it still screams Husband and Wifeeee
I was high off all the Bellarke content from the episode when I wrote that (can’t blame me right?!), but yeah, you definitely have a point.
But, also, I still think he did it mostly on instinct, because he wiped her nose like that BEFORE Jo reaffirmed how dangerous the Children of Gabriel would be once they found out who she was. He wipes her nose, and then after that she tells him how he’s about to have to watch them cut her head off. You can see him stop and think about it for another moment after she says that, which is then when he cuts himself and smears his blood on her forehead to hide who she is.
Regardless, we still got a really soft shot of Bellamy cradling Clarke’s body, so the technicalities don’t really bother me too much. 😂
