I have the Blight.  Just trying to get used to the idea. Still feels surreal even when I write it. Even when I feel it. Not as much as back then, not nearly, but it’s there. Something in my blood. Something in my head.   The worst of the corruption went away when Elgar’nan died. But not all. Still have to pass the Joining, or I’ll die. Probably. Nobody knows for sure anymore.

Getting blighted at Tearstone Island leads to Bellara undergoing the Joining. While she stays with the wardens to recover, she grapples with her place in the world and what to do next, and discovers her unique connection to the Blight.
