Near Belle Meade on the L&N

This is a run-through Missouri Pacific train on the Louisville & Nashville Railroad, most likely southwest of that second namesake city in the Belle Meade area. I figure (with some help from learned people in a FB L&N group) this train is moving away from Nashville and is headed for Memphis.

#WhiskeyWednesday with #BooneCounty #1833. I have been waiting quite awhile to try this one. Here's the good. It's a 10yr #MGP low #Rye mash at 21%. It's an easy sipper. There is no need to add water because it is very mild mannered. There is some confectionary sweetness right up front. It has a touch of cotton candy and some sweet oak. The finish is all vanilla, and caramel. The bad news, this whisky has no backbone. It has a nice flavor and tastes from the same vein as #BelleMeade #SingleBarrel but with all the personality stripped away. At 90.8 it's guttless. It's not a bad whiskey but they need to go ahead and crank it up to at least 100 proof. I didn't hate it, but so glad that I got to #TryIt before I #BuyIt. At 65$ this is a #LeaveItOnTheShelf. You just are not getting a great value. @tnwhiskeyco Belle Meade, and @smoothambler are better out of the wrapper, better in a glass or cocktail, and better for your wallet. All different but very much the same, can anyone name the similarities with these three?! • Lots of people hated the new single barrel Old Scouts but regardless of the negative reviews I personally love the funky Dickel juice they selected for it, it’s out there for sure but it’s also very unique and different in a good way, which in reality isn’t that what we’re looking for?! • Pair that and mix in a little delicious MGP juice and you land the WJ14, tempted to blend a little of the Belle Meade and Old Scout and do a side by side with the WJ14, should I?! • #smoothambler #bellemeade #widowjane https://www.instagram.com/p/B7JSIvSA4Xi/?igshid=1lpl7d1yywsk3
