The fleas have arrived to Bellhart! We bring free flea brew for all!
This feast looks so fun! Never seen so much food before! Am thankful for all you being here!
Come test Ur skil in FLEAA DoG!
Hello friend Hornet! Happy day of Bellhart feast! I offer you fleabrew
Thank you! Happy day of Bellhart feast to you, as well.
*You got a red! Ribbon?? It's big enough to tie onto your head like a bow*
Have this in return.
*Slowly, the scout arrived in Bellhart. For lack of better words, they looked terrible. Scratches permeates its grey-patched shell, her small cloak looks more ragged than usual and utterly soaked, and he looked like they were about topple over. Dragged behind with rope was the body of a Hardbone Elder. It still had a cracked Curvesickle stuck in its neckl.*
"I have... Arrived? I believe this is the right place..."
"I wanted to prove myself, so I sought to hunt something for the feast. It was meant to be a smaller beast but in my rush I came up against this one without any preparation. It was a harrowing battle..."
"Then I had to drag the heavy carcass up through the Fields and then Greymoor... I rarely leave the Fields, so I lost my way a few times."
"Please accept this. Please forgive my late arrival. Please forgive that it is not properly prepared. Please forgive my appearance. Please..."
*They fall over in exhaustion.*
So I think the crowds are filtering out now… My wings are beat, my belly is full, and I am overall: exhausted. Why aren’t these benches padded?!
Heh- well it’s no mystery for your dwindling energy. You’ve been flea-dodging and eating from the potluck practically nonstop! Breaks in-between sure, but you are fat and happy… you are happy right babe?
My body screams at me but yeah, I’m in my happy place… Tried lots of stuff too! Roasts, shell-chips, different preparations of mossberries, petal salads, a bit of carrion… The mossberry cakes were my favorite, who brought those in again? We should ask them for the recipe!
I believe… they might’ve left already. It’s just some of us now, though I do enjoy the calmer mood now that most of the festivities are done. It’s far too cold, too metallic for us to rest here. I’d even call it dreadful, but this was a splendid place for a festival!
You didn’t do that much though?? Watched me play flea dodge and get a high score of 33 before that spotlight took it, and of course you ate from the potluck too-
We played Flea Dodge you mean? Ah… well it’s been a long cycle, I can’t judge you for being forgetful. Should we get going, atleast to find a spot in Shellwood for the time being? While you still got some loft in those wings, I am not carrying you: only dragging.
Yeah! Uhhh… oh! Lemme look down the festival potluck one more time! I still want some of those cakes!
… I believe those are all gone now, dear. I know you finished off those mossberry cakes too, so not much more left.
Oh… darn.
Let me help myself to it too though! If you’re going to be thick then I gotta be thick too!
As the festivities die down, I find myself standing at the edge of this town, alone. I seem to have lost my beloved, though I know he is probably safe at home with our daughter. I never came from the crowd and offered him a dance.
Perhaps during the next festival I shall be less of a fool. Today I was too enamored with this "chicken" to care about much else.
*I stare at the note, and my quill slips out of my claw*
I should stop writing to myself. Yet, now I am left speaking to myself in much the same tone. Perhaps that is why I have felt so distant from him. So distant from our beautiful Phandelion, too.
*I crumple the note and throw it to the ground, then prod at the bells lining the earth to bury the paper beneath*
Today was a good day, still. A great day of great joy. I thank you, Bellhart, for your ability to bring cheer to the hearts of so many, and I eagerly await the next month's festivities.
Hope I'm not too late for the festival. I'll be over here grilling fish if anyone wants to try some!
