If you don't mind me asking, where did you go to college?

@lastofthelovesongs Beloit College of Wisconsin! It’s an itty bitty liberal arts school with such classes as (some of which I took and some of which were only spoken of to me):

Intro to philosophy via Star Trek

Gender Bending for performance art

Hieroglyphics

Japanese Folklore

Marine Biology that somehow involved us making calamari

Ancient Warfare where I was required to build a shield (an actual proper hoplite shield so that we could march in phalanx formation as a class)

Detective Fiction

A Brief History of the Devil

The Study of the Graphic Novel

Shakespeare (for which my final project involved a puppet rig)

Makeup Prosthetics

Costume History (a friend of mine ended up making bone corsets as an assignment)

Improv through Dance

Dance Kinesiology

Publishing Fiction (for which my capstone project was an unfinished comic book)

And honestly quite a few other things, because that’s just what I’m vaguely remembering. The largest organized student activity group on campus is the LARPers and probably the SciFi and Fantasy association. It’s a weird school for weird people and I had a good time.

Off to college events with my son. Beloit brought out some impressive alumni. The parents and kids were very nice and some of the people remembered my nephew who graduated in 2014.

❤️ Had a BLAST performing in Beloit, WI last night! Thank you, Beloit College Music House for the great turn out and providing a safe and supportive space for queer music!  Also, had the privilege of seeing some other amazing queer musicians. Shoutout Jack Squier, Datalie Nusek, Lin Z and Lex Allen for their beautiful performances 😍😍😍 The fun continues tomorrow night at Pride Arts Center in Buena Park where I’ll be performing for WeFest!
