One of those moments
a starry sky and high school is done.
The sun shines promise me that your hand is hot as mine.
Our shrilly giggles send love into the wind
stronger than a song bird
because we are human.
Still we fly
wheels under our seat, we know where we're going
the anticipation of a new chapter is at our feet.
we make ourselves the focal point of the earth
because we know that is what we must do.
But I didn't realize how different this world would be without you.
4 sets of eyes I admired everyday
I fell in love with their worries hopes and dreams
I fell deeper into their messes, challenges and schemes.
I miss them now, everyday.
Today
I am adjusting to this new chapter without my usual parts
I didn't realize how much I relied on them for a good day to start.
I know I will make my own destiny choices and happiness
I just can't stop thinking about the people I used to share every day with.
It always was as if we always were
and it will be as if we always are.

i understand that all journalism majors have to choose a second major. is there a second major that most journalism majors choose? and how difficult would the work load be with a double major in journalism and something else and also a minor in the business of media, entertainment, & technology?
x: many journalism majors select economics, political science, cinema studies, or english as their double major. adding a minor onto a double major workload may be too much--and you may also run the risk of not having enough credit space to complete the minor! however, if you calculate the number of credits needed for the double major, the minor, and the map requirements of CAS and you have enough space for it, then you should pursue them!

ok, incoming gls freshman wanting to transfer to steinhardt/major in mcc here again. i'm actually worried now because i really want to have two cross-school minors (bemt + creative writing). bemt sounds amazing, but creative writing was what attracted me initially to nyu. i don't want to have to give either up. is it at all possible? like even if i have to graduate later or something? i really appreciate your help, you guys rock.
x: since both minors require a minimum of sixteen credits for completion, you should be fine, so long as you're able to complete all your requirements for the mcc major and the requirements necessary for graduation. also, if you successfully transfer to steinhardt as an mcc major, you can't use the courses you take for mcc as credit for the bemt minor. just keep that in mind.
for creative writing, they do have a summer program (which q took--you can read all about her experience with it in the creative writing tag), so you may not have to graduate later.
lastly, a word of caution. i know the college of arts and sciences restricts students from taking too many cross-school courses. for example, i can't take more than 4 courses in the tisch department. you can always petition for more credits in different schools, but that's an entirely different (and perhaps long/drawn out process). however, this may not be the case for steinhardt. you should definitely get in touch with an academic advisor to confirm.
