08.25.18 Extended Play was a 12-hour festival at the City Recital Hall in Sydney that presented new music in every format from noon to midnight. Artists included multi media drummer Alon Ilsar , Elision Ensemble , Ensemble Offspring playing a Steve Reich program, violinist Anna McMichael, ConCreative, ex-BOAC pianist Lisa Moore, the wonderful Rubiks Collective from Melbourne , We Are Breathing ( a duo of Connor D’Netto and Ben Baker) and headliners Bang on a Can All-Stars , who performed JG Thirlwell’s Anabiosis along with pieces by Philip Glass and BOAC founders David Lang, Julia Wolfe and Michael Gordon. The event was curated by Lyle Chan.
